KREATIK – Circular Economy, Recyclates, Development and Acceptance through Technology, Innovation and Artificial Intelligence Circular Economy and AI in Practice
The transformation towards a sustainable and resource-efficient plastics economy presents major challenges for companies in the plastics industry. Increasing regulatory requirements, limited raw material resources and growing expectations from the market and society require new strategies for the development, manufacture and use of plastic products. In particular, the integration of recyclates, bio-based materials and digital technologies plays a central role in the future competitiveness of the industry.
This is where the KREATIK project comes in. The aim of the project is to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the plastics industry in developing and implementing innovative solutions for a circular plastics economy. To achieve this, the project brings together three key thematic areas:
Circular Economy and AI are at the core of the KREATIK project. We develop innovative solutions for sustainable resource use, recycling and digital transformation.
-
Circular Economy and Plastics Recycling
-
Use of Recyclates and Bio-based Materials
-
Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence in Product and Process Development
Through targeted knowledge transfer between research and industry, companies are enabled to develop new materials, products and processes that meet both environmental and economic requirements.
Participating companies benefit from:
-
Access to current scientific expertise
-
Exchange with other companies in the industry
-
New contacts and opportunities for collaboration
-
Impulses for innovative and sustainable product development
KREATIK contributes to the development of a circular plastics economy in which materials remain in use for as long as possible and resources are used efficiently. By combining materials research, digitalisation and product design, new approaches for sustainable plastics solutions are created.
The project supports companies in preparing at an early stage for the requirements of a sustainable and digital future and in taking advantage of new opportunities in the field of the circular economy.
Knowledge Transfer between Research and Industry
A key element of KREATIK is the practice-oriented transfer of knowledge between scientific research and industrial application. Within the framework of the project, companies from the plastics industry work closely with researchers at Hof University of Applied Sciences.
These formats provide the opportunity to:
- become familiar with new technologies and methods,
- discuss current developments in plastics engineering,
- exchange experiences with other companies, and
- develop joint approaches to addressing specific challenges.
Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence in Plastics Engineering
Digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) methods are becoming increasingly important in plastics engineering. They enable data-driven optimisation of material properties, simulation of production processes and support for the development of sustainable product designs.
The objective is to support companies in making targeted use of digital tools and AI methods for sustainable product development.
Sustainable Product Design and Market Acceptance
In addition to technical innovations, product design also plays a crucial role in the success of sustainable plastic products. Products must not only be recyclable, but must also meet functional, economic and aesthetic requirements.
By combining materials expertise, design methods and digital technologies, new concepts for future-proof plastic products are to be developed.
